Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in the on-page search forms are passed to the third-party result provider. Monroe Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries on its own servers. A message sent to us contains only the information supplied in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting may create normal server logs, such as an IP address, browser information, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to operate and improve the reference. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
What We Do With This Data
We use the limited data to operate the reference, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Monroe Residents Directory links to Union County and North Carolina portals, library collections, archives, and search services. Information submitted to those services is controlled by their own policies. The same is true of sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
You may ask about personal data that Monroe Residents Directory holds. North Carolina's public-record framework is Chapter 132, including G.S. 132-1 and G.S. 132-6, while G.S. 132-1.10 addresses Social Security numbers and related identifying information. The Identity Theft Protection Act, G.S. 75-60 et seq., is another state privacy protection. Records controlled by public custodians are outside this private reference's control. Record-specific limits can also apply to sealed material, juveniles, adoptions, and protected addresses. The North Carolina Address Confidentiality Program offers qualifying participants a substitute address and mail-forwarding service. Because the site keeps little information, a request generally concerns a contact message or technical log. Use the Contact page; request correction or removal of an official record from the agency that holds it.
